Jamaica Defense Force

The Jamaica Defense Force (JDF) was formed just a few days prior to Jamaica becoming a sovereign independent State within the Commonwealth of Nations. Its mission is to provide military capability to deter and/or defeat threats against the Jamaican state and/or its interest.

KRC partnered with the Jamaica Defence force to establish Red Stripe's Project Artist Programme at KRC's Pechon Street Complex situated at 8 1/2 - 16 1/2 Pechon Street, Kingston. The Jamaica Defence Force has also given assistance to KRC through the upgrading of its Teen Centre Complex situated 2 - 4 Higholborn Street, Kingston. Under KRC's Youth Education Support System and Necessary Education and Training Programmes, JDF partnered with KRC where young men and women from the inner city communities were taken on a four week camp to its training site in New Castle.
