Ministry of National Security

The Ministry of National Security (MNS) was established as a single Ministry in 2001 following the separation of the Ministry of National Security and Justice. Its mission is to contribute towards creating a safe and secure Jamaica by effective enforcement of law and order and maintenance of secure borders.Over the past six years, KRC has been awarded a contract by the Ministry of National Security to implement the educational and parenting component of its Citizen Security and Justice Programme.Objectives of the programme:

  • Preventing and reducing crime and violence
  • Strengthening crime management capabilities
  • Improving the delivery of judicial services

KRC's mandate under the programme serves to provide educational and parental support to 10 communities under the following areas:

  • Homework Assistance delivered to GSAT Students in 9 communities
  • Tutoring and CSEC Tuition Assistance in CXC Mathematics & English delivered to Continuing Education Students
  • Delivery of Parenting Workshops & Seminars
  • Remedial Education Programme
